Dear Friend,

welcome to the 10th month of the year, i dont know how anyone else thinks, but for me 2026 feels like it is on a marathon race, and i am just trying to catch up. new month comes with new teachings and this month is not different. sit down, read through, be blessed. my prayer is that God continues to minister to you through change.

Genesis 16, Genesis 21:8–21

What do you do when the very place that once gave you a promise now sends you away with pain? When the people who once welcomed you now withdraw every warmth, and you’re left holding a child and a few supplies exiled with no plan, no map, no hope? This was Hagar’s story. Twice sent away. Twice stripped of security. Yet twice visited by divinity.

Life hands us lemons in different shapes, forms some come in the form of “get out” job losses, friend betrayals, family rejections, or sudden abandonment. And we cry, “Why me?” But the Bile shows us that the wilderness is not your end it’s your place of re-seeing.

1. The Lemon of Misplaced Trust (Genesis 16):

Hagar didn’t ask for the arrangement. She was a pawn in someone else’s impatience with God. Used to birth a solution that heaven never signed off. And after all that, she was despised and dismissed.

There are moments we get entangled in people’s shortcuts. We’re pulled into their temporary solutions jobs, relationships, arrangements only to be thrown out when the weight of it settles in. The lemon here is bitter: being caught in cycles you didn’t create, yet still bleeding from them.

But in that flight, the Angel of the Lord found her. Not in a palace. Not in a perfect home. In the wilderness. That first divine visitation teaches this: You are seen. Even when no one owns your pain, heaven does.

“You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” – Genesis 16:13

2. The Lemon of Unfair Release (Genesis 21:8–21):

Fast forward this time, she’s not just fleeing. She’s being officially sent away. With bread, a skin of water, and a child. No settlement. No plan. Just go. i know she felt cheated and used, especially knowing everything she did, she did not because she wanted to.

How often does life send us out like this? A failed opportunity. A door shut abruptly. A relationship you gave years to suddenly ends. all you’re left with is a water skin and an unanswered prayer.

She wandered in the desert. Until the water was gone. Until her child began to cry. Until she couldn’t bear to watch him die. in that most hopeless hour not earlier, not when she first cried but at the breaking point.

“God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven…” – Genesis 21:17

The lemon may be the exile, but the lemonade is in the well you didn’t see before. There was water all along, but grief had blinded her.

Sometimes, the miracle is not in a new location. It’s in your ability to see again rightly, deeply, supernaturally.

3. Lessons from Hagar’s Lemons:

  • You can be rejected by man but you are never forgotten by God

  • Heaven doesn’t need perfect conditions to show up. The wilderness is holy when God steps in.

  • When you’re sent out with nothing, God often sends a word that births everything.

  • Tears are valid but don’t let them blind you from the well. Ask the Lord to open your eyes.

  • Some wilderness journeys are wombs ,what dies in comfort may come alive in discomfort.

There is a generation of believers currently sitting under a desert tree, watching what they love cry out and you’re afraid it will die. But God says: “I have heard. I have seen. And I will open your eyes to the well.”

Don’t curse the desert. Don’t curse the lemons. Sometimes, it’s where heaven whispers your name for the first time.

This month, don’t resist the lemons reflect on them Ask: “What has the wilderness tried to blind me from?” Let Hagar’s story remind you you may be sent out, but you are never sent off God’s radar. There’s a well. Let Him open your eyes. Your well is your new season. Your path of hope and renaming.
